Let's talk about milk, shall we. Milk is a nutritious liquid that is secreted by mammals and used to feed their young. This liquid has also been used throughout the ages by many "adult" human beings, and incorporated into much of their diet. (First, my primary focus on this is adults let's say individuals aged 18 - 90's +).
Some foods that include this liquid are as follows: - Butter, Ghee - Cheese - Cream, whipped cream - Curds - Custard - Half & Half - Ice cream, ice milk, sherbet - Nougat - Pudding - Sour cream - Whey Milk can also be found in a variety of other goods as well, such as: breads, cakes, candies, cereals, cookies, nachos, pies, pizza, quesadillas, salad dressings, etc.
Now with that out of the way, let's also examine this. I have noticed, personally, that majority of people who are strongly opposed to women breast feeding their offspring beyond a specific age ALL consume dairy. Now, I'm not saying there aren't exceptions to this. I'm saying these are the ones that I've had experience with. The next thing I want to cover is the whole point of breastfeeding and it's benefits: - provides antibodies to the infant, which aids in the development of a baby's immune system - protects baby against diarrheal "infections" (not just diarrhea itself, diarrheal infections), bacterial meningitis, respiratory infections, vision defects - Breast milk is free, and so is the breast containing the milk - The temperature of breastmilk is perfect, never requires refrigeration, and also serves as tranquilizer for Mom - It's not necessary to research which brand is healthier, if you're producing this naturally yourself - Facilitates proper dental and jaw development
Alright, so with all this in mind this leads me to my entire point for posting this, which is this question.... Why is it not okay for a mother to continue providing breastmilk to her offspring beyond a certain age......BUT, it's perfectly alright for adult human beings to "breastfeed" off of cows/goats ? I mean, let's be REAL people. You eating a pizza at a party, ain't much different than everyone eating that pizza, walking up to a cow on a farm and dropping to all 4's, and sucking straight from the teat. I don't care HOW you wanna look at it, the tit of the cow/goat is where that milk on the pizza came from. Now, considering the fact that RAW milk from these animals is illegal in many countries, it hardly seems fair to the mother and child to subject them to scrutiny and judgement for using healthier nourishment that what milk product consumers are eating. Since homogenized and pasteurized milk has had it's beneficial enzymes and antibodies destroyed in the process of making it legal for you to buy off of the shelf.
Suck on that.
