Based on my personal experience with inner growth, and dealing with my own inner demons, I'm seeing the real issue here is simply this....
People aren't looking at the BIG picture. We're taught from the time we are small, to scrutinize over details. What is not being comprehended is that ALL things have purpose. As long as you focus on the smaller distractions, you're going to only find reasons to loathe yourself, throughout your life.
Take a step outside of your human form for a moment. Forget about your job, your family, your concerns. Make 2 lists on a sheet of paper, of all yours strengths and things you are good at. Now, on another sheet, make a list of your flaws and things that you suck at.
Now, use visualization. See yourself as a GEAR. For every positive trait you posses, you have a spoke. For every negative trait, you have a notch. Comprehend, that every individual that exists besides yourself.....Doctors, Lawyers, housewives, janitors, construction workers, artists, athletes, entertainers, etc. We all share this in common. Both strengths and weaknesses.
If you see the Universe as one infinite machine, with gears infinitely turning....spinning in and out of each other. You are a gear, so is everyone you know. For the sake of balance as you're interacting with one another, someone you know has strengths that make up for that weakness you have. And your strengths make up for the weakness of another.
This is why I don't care for psychological diagnosis. It infects you with a label that induces self loathing "oh well, I'm schizophrenic/bi-polar, whatever....something else about me to hate". When in fact, you should be taught to love yourself as a WHOLE. Your notch serves just as much purpose, as your spoke does. As a vagina serves just as much purpose as the penis. We all need each other. We're not meant to be alone. That's why we have these notches, they force us to interact and embrace one another.
We are all here to support each other. We don't need pills, we need to love one another. Embracing our brothers and sisters. Lifting one another up. Pills fck around with the brain chemistry. These labels and shit, are just a distraction from the truth. The sooner we all learn to face those qualities inside ourselves that we are afraid of, love ourselves and each other. The sooner we can be happy and heal this planet. Making it a safer place for our children.
